About Shader Croft School
Shader Croft School was founded as an educational non-profit in 2001 with a mission to help middle school students improve their literacy skills through innovative summer programming. We created a program that is highly engaging and effective for young adolescents because it is student-centered, community-based and very experiential. Our curriculum and instructional model is integrated throughout topics that are relevant to students, related to their interests and dreams, and provide rigorous opportunities to learn and practice new skills.
Why Shader Croft?
Shader Croft is not your typical summer program; it is different and kids know it immediately. Small groups and a 3 to 1 student/teacher ratio allows for personalized instruction and ensures real growth. The students lead the way and the teachers are there to guide and support them. Young adolescents thrive in such an environment.
Impact and History
Shader Croft is committed to helping youths improve their academic skills and develop the personal skills which will allow them to continue to grow during the coming school year and beyond. We have succeeded in fulfilling our commitment to youth for almost twenty years and here is the proof.
How to Get Involved
Shader Croft, at its very core, is a community based and a community focused program. It is where everything happens: from being our best classroom, to making a positive impact in the lives of youth, to providing exciting teaching opportunities for educators, all supported by community organizations and individuals investing in the young adults of tomorrow.
Our Team
Shader Croft is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We employ a part-time year-round Executive Director and a full summer staff of dedicated education professionals. But our team is more than that.
