Student trip to New Moon Cafe in Burlington

“In the kitchen we made cupcake base called coffee chocolate.  Then she showed us how to put frosting on.” -Nicole

“After the baker puts the cupcakes in the oven for five minutes she has to turn them because each side of the cupcake needs to get the same amount of heat.  It is hotter in the back of the oven.” -Ella

“after she takes them out the bottom puffs out, so she had to take them out and slide them on the table so the bottom flattens out.  Also you have to freeze the cupcakes before you put the frosting on because if you put the frosting on when it was warm, it would melt” -Kaytlyn and Kirsten

“All I know is everytime I put on frosting, I put on too much.  Also I learned you have to use a double boiler to melt the chocolate.  You put boiling water underneath and the chocolate on top.” -Nicole

“This made me more interested in baking.  I’m interested in baking and I used to do a lot of baking with my mentor.” -Nicole
