We visited the world-famous Ben and Jerry’s this week and took a tour of the factory. Our tour guide was funny, but he had bad puns. He lied and said that if we laughed at his puns we’d get a bigger sample, but we didn’t. He also said today’s ice cream sample was broccoli cheddar chunk. It was actually a candy shop caramel swirl, which was surprisingly good.
David made an interesting observation as we looked around the gift shop. He feels that Ben and Jerry’s is becoming more concerned with profit rather than remaining a family-run business. For example, he noticed that a teddy bear the size of a 5-year-old’s hand cost $20!
In addition to the tour we also had fun on the playground, saw ducks, played tag, and visited the flavor graveyard. We were surprised that some of the flavors that looked really good were in the cemetery!
